PTF Statement of Purpose

The purpose of this organization shall be, in prayerful dependence upon God:

To establish a fellowship between home and school.

To encourage and strengthen the parents in fulfilling their God-given responsibility in training of their children in the Lord.

To provide opportunity for the parents and teachers to meet, and to better understand and coordinate their training of their children in the Lord, both as to the intellectual and the moral or disciplinary phases of their development.

To provide a channel through which the physical and financial needs of the school can be made known and through which the members and friends can help in supplying these needs.

This guide provides you with an overview of the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) activities scheduled for our school year, information on other programs and information about the PTF organization.

The PTF Documents are formatted with Adobe Acrobat (PDF) In order to view PDF documents, you will need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. The Reader is FREE from Adobe.

All parents and teachers are members of the PTF. There are no dues to pay. We invite all parents and teachers to attend and participate in the monthly PTF board meetings. We also ask that, as a PTF member and parent of a West Valley Christian School student, you donate a few hours of your time towards making all the events and activities happen.

This guide will introduce you to many of the activities the PTF sponsors. It will also give you the opportunity to prayerfully consider which area you may wish to volunteer in. Every activity will require a chair person and several committee members. This is a fun way to get involved in the school while fulfilling your volunteer hours. Parent participation really ensures a successful school year for the students.

WVCA PTF would also like to encourage parents to bring any ideas they may have forward to make our school year better. We hope to see you at school and our PTF monthly meetings held every third Thursday of the month.

Please feel free to us if you have questions about the PTF. If you want to serve on a committee or just have great ideas we would love to hear from you.

In lieu of a meeting for the month of December, the PTF decided to send out a newsletter. There was just too much good stuff going on to let a month go by without sharing! Click Here for Attachment

This year our focus is to raise money to get our school “Connected”!!!! That means getting our school networked so that the computer lab can have internet access as well as enabling the teachers to communicate via the internet with their new computers! We need to raise about $10,000 to make this happen! We can do it!

We have so many wonderful volunteers and fundraisers to help raise money. A special thanks to Pastor Tim, Frank Frasula and Matt Laiolo for all the work so far coordinating quotes and working with the various companies involved!

Read on for information on all our activities and make sure to come to the next PTF Meeting in January where we will be sharing the latest up to date information on all our events, dollars raised and activities coming up!

Holiday Store Success

Thank you Susie Moore for coordinating one of our most fun events! Thank you to each and every volunteer who helped those two days, you are all a blessing and are appreciated.

The kids had so much fun and we even managed to bring in a profit of $770!!!! Great work everyone!

Save Mart Cards & Receipts

Remember – SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS! Now through January 29^th we are collecting Save Mart receipts to earn points for supplies for the school. For every $100 we earn one point! We have earned 270 points so far! Good work everyone! The Thanksgiving Holiday brought in over $10,000 in receipts!!

Save Mart Smart Shares cards have arrived and were delivered!!! Don’t forget to use your card each time you shop!!!!

Box Top Competition

Our Box Top competitions are full speed ahead! The kids are loving this! We have to thank Nancy Frasula for driving this fundraiser and she is doing an outstanding job! We have raised over $600 by just collecting box tops!

Mrs. Rose’s class won the first Box Top Competition bringing in 928 Box Tops!!! They celebrated with an Ice Cream Sundae Party and received a certificate!

Next competition ends January 20^th! The prize is a party at the Traditional Martial Arts Academy!!!!! Keep those Box Tops coming in. Mrs. Cool’s class is in first place as of Dec 10!

Script and e-Script

Script is selling!!!! There is now a booth set up before, during and after Chapel on Wednesday to sell script we have on hand. Thank you Amanda Maes for making the signs and being there every week!
